Frequently Asked Questions
CDMX Travel
General
OVERALL
You will not need a visa to enter Mexico, but you will need a passport valid for at least 6 months from your arrival.
We have compiled heaps of information on how to navigate and enjoy CDMX in our Guide which is linked at the top right of this here website.
Flights
OVERALL
The best airport to fly in and out of is Benito Juarez (MEX).
We recommend setting a flight tracker to keep an eye on costs. Generally speaking, costs should decrease when we're a few months out from the trip. For those outside of North America, 3-6 months is the ideal window.
FROM AUSTRALIA
You'll likely find it to be more cost-effective to buy a flight to the US and then book a separate ticket down to Mexico with an American or Mexican airline (e.g. Aeromexico, Volaris, Viva Aerobus).
FROM THE EU/UK
Depending on your departure locale, you may be able to find reasonable direct flights. If not, you can try the same approach of flying into a US city such as NY, Miami, or Dallas, and then looking for a separate flight into Mexico.
FROM THE US
There are usually reasonable flights from most hubs, but we expect flight prices to drop a few months out (keep an eye out for black Friday sales!). As a point of reference, we can usually find direct flights from ORD for $270 RT.
Transportation
OVERALL
You will not need to rent a car in Mexico City.
From the airport you should order an Uber or Didi to your accommodation. Please do not hail a cab (at the airport or in general, these can be scammy).
For the remainder of your trip, you'll be able to get around via ride share, public transit, biking, or walking. Please see page 8 of our Guide for more details on each mode.
Accommodation
HOTEL
If you're not a fan of the Airbnb route, we recommend The Mondrian for anyone who prefers to stay in a hotel. It's in a great location and is at a decent price point per night. You will likely find the best rates through 3rd party sites such as hotels.com or booking.com.
If you'd like to ball out on a hotel, the Four Seasons or the St Regis are where you want to stay. Please invite us over if you end up booking either of these!
AIRBNB / VRBO
If it's your first or second time visiting the city, we suggest searching for a place in one of the following neighborhoods:
-
Roma - Beautiful, walkable, and central part of the city with great shops and dining.
-
Condesa - The neighborhood to the west of of Roma. It's super similar but contains more beautiful parks and is a touch closer to the wedding venue.
-
Juarez - This is the gayborhood which is just north of Roma and Condesa. It's a bit busier though as the hotel district and some major thoroughfares run through it.
What to do
There is so, so, so much to see, do, and eat in Mexico City. Please check out our Guide for our top recommendations.

RSVPs
The link to the RSVP portal can be found at the top right of the website. You are able to return to the form and update your information as it's available (e.g. if you know you're coming to the wedding but are unsure if you can join for the welcome party, you can enter that now and then revise it once the rest of your travel plans are confirmed).
To access the system, you must enter your name exactly as we set it up. If you are having trouble logging in, please reach out to us as there's a good chance we have a typo or, more likely, that we used a nickname when adding you to the roster.
PLUS 1s
Curious if you have a plus one? When you enter your name in the RSVP portal it will automatically bring up either the name of your partner or a space to provide their details if you have been granted a plus one. If you’d like to clarify anything or think there may be a mistake, please reach out.
LITTLE 1s
As much as we adore your kiddos, this dance floor is no place for anyone under the drinkin’ age. If your child(ren) is joining you for the overall trip, please let us know and we can help arrange care for the night of the wedding.

DRESSED UP DISCO
Formal meets festival
But what does that mean?
Sure, this thing's formal - but it ain't no funeral, baby! This is all about self-expression, celebration, and sparking some joy in yourself, your compadres, and any passerby that spots you struttin' your way to the wedding. This can mean sparkly and/or colorful suits and dresses, or anything fancy with a bit of flare. Whatever will make you want to twirl around on the dance floor into the wee hours.
Please take a peek at slides 31-33 of our Guide for inspo.
Please also take note of the weather as this event is partially outdoors.
